چکیده

Autoradiography using 1111n-oxine labeled autologous platelets was performed to observe the behavior of platelets in induced vascular injury by activated platelets in rabbit's brain and lung. Cerebrovascular injuries were induced by injection of arachidonic acid (AA) (0.7 mg/kg) into right internal carotid artery. Fourteen animals were pretreated with antiplatelet drug, ti clopidine (200 mg/kg) and 10 were controls. Before the AA injection, 1111n-oxine (300 pCi) labeled platelets were injected intravenously. Evans blue was given as a marker of disturbances of blood brain barrier. Sixty min after the AA injection, brains were removed and autoradiographic and electron microscopic studies were done. In the nontreated animals and some of the treated animals whose platelet aggregability was not suppressed, blue staining were seen in the cerebral hemisphere of injection side and hot radioactivity in autoradiogram were revealed in corresponding area. In the treated animals

Subcellular Localization of “In in Human and Rabbit Platelets

In order to examine the subcellular distribution of 111In in “In-oxine-labeled human and rabbit platelets. we employed a hypothetical grain technique of EM autoradiograph analysis. The results indicated that in the rabbit ‘11In was concentrated within the platelet dense bodies. particularly when the platelets had been labeled in a plasma-free system. Under comparable conditions of labeling. hum...

Positive imaging of an inflammatory process at an arteriovenous access site with 111 Indium-labeled platelets.

Complications associated with the vascular access for hemodialysis represent one of the most important causes of morbidity among patients with renal replacement therapy. Early detection of arteriovenous fistula (AVF) dysfunction is of great interest. We present the case of a 70 year old woman who underwent 111In-oxine-labeled-platelet scintigraphy to evaluate thrombogenicity at 3 weeks and 3 mo...

Transient platelet accumulation in the rat brain after common carotid artery thrombosis. An 111In-labeled platelet study.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Thromboembolic events are a major cause of ischemic stroke. To obtain evidence for platelet embolization after cerebrovascular injury, the accumulation of indium-labeled platelets was documented after photothrombosis of the rat common carotid artery. METHODS Heterologous blood was collected from donor rats, and the isolated platelets were labeled with 111In-tropolone. L...

A quantitative method to measure human platelet chemotaxis using indium-111-oxine-labeled gel-filtered platelets.

Human blood platelets have been shown to migrate directionally and specifically toward collagen in plasma in vitro. We have developed a new system to monitor this behavior using a linear 7-compartment chamber with 111In-oxine-labeled gel-filtered platelets. The compartments are separated by various Nuclepore and Millipore filter membranes. Radiolabeled platelets suspended in plasma are placed i...

Scintigraphic detection of carotid atherosclerosis with indium-111-labeled autologous platelets.

Using autologous platelets labeled with indium-111-oxine, we studied the localization of platelets on arterial lesions by radionuclide scintigraphy in 34 patients with suspected cerebrovascular disease. The imaging results were compared with the findings of contrast angiography in 23 patients, 16 of whom were receiving antiplatelet and/or anticoagulant drugs during the platelet imaging study. A...
